My Landscape Picture for today....
This landscape photograph was taken using a point and shoot Nikon Coolpix L20 camera. I am slowly, but, surely becoming more adept at creating a Landscape photograph. It was taken from the seat of a tour tram I was on with my family at the Circle B Bar Reserve a few days before Christmas of 2014. We were on Wading bird way at the time I took this nature photograph.

Time to pick up where I left off......
I apologize, but, life got really busy after I bit off way too much to chew. The blog had to go by the wayside in favor of the wife and kids and providing for them. I hope that I have the time now to dedicate to making this blog the best possible blog in the blogosphere.
This blog is about my photography and is based in central Florida. I am by inclination a nature photographer who lives very near one of Florida's hidden Jewels, The Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County. The Circle B Bar Reserve is a nature park that was actually a working ranch until approximately 2000 AD, when it was purchased by the Polk County Environmental Lands Program in conjunction with the Southwest Florida Water Management District.
This is the entrance at Discovery Drive, which leads back to Polk's Nature Discovery Center. The Discovery Center is a central resource for information about this nature park as well as a learning and play center for children and their parents. This nature park is open daily from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. during standard time and from 5 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. during daylight-saving time. The Polk County Nature Discovery Center has different hours than the nature park does. The hours are Tuesday's through Saturday's from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday's from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. If you live in or are visiting the central Florida area and want to visit this jewel of nature, the street address is:
4399 Winter Lake Road (SR 540)
Lakeland, FL 33803

This is one of my landscape photographs of the entry walkway to the Polk's Nature Discovery Center that was taken on a rainy day in early February of 2015.
This area is the gateway to some of central Florida's finest opportunities for nature photography. There is a series of interconnected trails that allow for nearly unlimited wildlife photography. Here are a few examples of the fine art photography that I have accomplished here:
This wildlife picture of an Alligator swimming was taken from the Wading Bird Way Trail.
I captured this image of an Osprey eating a fish on the Alligator Alley Trail.
This wildlife photo shows a Sandhill Crane walking away with an egg it had just pulled from a buried nest. Because it was during the spring of 2015, I am guessing that it was a turtle nest.
If you are looking for someplace to purchase my wildlife art you can find me at http://chris-mercer.artistwebsites.com/. This is a website powered by Fine Art America.
