I thought that you might like this image of a classic Corvette taken April 6, 2013. It was taken at the Winter Haven Downtown Park during their monthly car show.

Olympus in my eye.

I took this "selfie" of my eye using my old Olympus FE-110 point and shoot camera during the middle of March 2012. If you look closely around the iris of my eye you will see the lens area of the camera and my hands holding the camera.

I captured this macro photo of a very small crab in a shell on my wife's hands using my Nikon Cool Pix camera. My family and I were enjoying a balmy October fifth of 2012 at the beach near Clear Water, Florida.

MUSCOVY DUCK'S EYE MACRO

I captured this super close up (Macro) photo on Friday, April 18, 2014 at the South Lake Howard Water Reclamation Park. I was standing on a walkway using the railing to steady my camera as I zoomed in on the eye and then waited until the duck opened it and looked the right way to get this picture.
Please note that I am going to try to remember to schedule these posts earlier in the day for the convenience of the east coast readers.

I took this macro shot of a small stone and a seashell at Honeymoon Island State Park on December 15, 2012 using my old Nikon Coolpix point and shoot camera. I was experimenting with taking macro shots with it.

Honeymoon Island Sunset

This image is from the Gulf Coast of Florida at the Honeymoon Island State Park. I took it one December evening while visiting for the day with my family. It was a gorgeous sunset when I saw the sea oats reflecting the sunset light and turned them into a silhouette.

OOOOPPPPSSS....again.

I went and did it again, let life get so busy that I forgot to schedule my posts so you could see them. Without further ado, here is my newest post. I titled it Alligator Alley Canal and took it this April Fourth at the Circle B Bar Reserve.

Week Ending Sandhill Crane.

I thought that I would close the week out with this image of a Sandhill Cranes head just because the inner eye lid was half closed and it made an interesting image to me.

Baby Sandhill Crane 072

This image was captured on March 21, 2014 as the Baby Sand Hill Crane was searching the center of the Eagle Roost Trail at the Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk county Florida. The rest of the family was hunting for food very nearby. The perspective is from the ground with me on my stomach from about six feet away.

Baby Sandhill Crane 071

I captured this image of a baby Sandhill Crane on the Eagle Roost trail at the Circle B Bar Reserve on Friday, March 21, 2014. The rest of his family were nearby and it paused in the center of the trail to display it's little wings.

Sandhill Crane 036

I caught this adult Sandhill Crane and two baby Sandhill Cranes in the water at the Circle B Bar Reserve on March 9, 2013. They did not seem overly concerned with my presence and in fact just a few minutes later the adult nearly stepped on me as they went in search of something to eat.

Baby Sandhill Crane 073

I captured this image of a baby Sandhill Crane on the Eagle Roost Trail at the Circle B Bar Reserve on Friday, March 21, 2014. It was with it's parents and a sibling that are not in this picture. It was walking down the center of the trail fast enough that I had a hard time keeping it in focus as I zoomed out to get this picture:

Sandhill Crane Family

This image is from one of my first cameras. It was an old five mega pixel Olympus FE-110 that I bought at a yard sale in 211 for about fifty cents. For what it was, it was a great little camera once I actually figured out how to use it. On April 13, 2012 I used it to get this picture of a Sandhill Crane family at the intersection of the Alligator Alley, Wading Bird Way, Marsh Rabbit Run and Eagle Roost trails. I had laid down on the ground and let them walk within several feet of me. It paid off in this picture:

This week's posts are about Sandhill Cranes.

This image is one of the luckiest pictures I have taken in quite awhile. Fridsay, March 21, 2014 was an all around lucky day. The first bit of luck was that the weather had changed from Florida Cold to Florida warm. The next bit of luck was that I was on the Eagle Roost Trail at the Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk county, Florida at the same time as a family of Sandhill Cranes. The best bit of luck was pushing the shutter release at the right time to catch the Crane with the mouth open to make it look like the lizard was running into the inside of the mouth.

American Alligator in the swamp

This American Alligator was only about six foot long, but I did not want to walk out into the swamp with him to get a head on look at him. I was born ugly, not stupid.

Just a little gator.

The subject gator of this image was an under one foot long and had just jumped from the bank before I saw it resting on the bank. Once it was in the water it seemed to lose it's fear of me and allowed me to get several other photos of it. I worked my way down the bank until I could get the best exposure of light to highlight the gator. Weather wise, Friday, March 21, 2014 was a perfect Florida early spring day. The temperature at the time was probably in the high 70's or low 80's under a cloudless sky. Who would ask for more?
As you can probably tell by the break in publishing, I forgot to schedule this post and the posts that follow it. I apologize for that.
