This image was captured on Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Winter Haven Public Library. It is slightly different than yesterday's image as evidenced by the position of the individual to the right hand side of the fountain.

I captured this image of the Fountain at the Winter Haven Public Library on June 27, 2014 simply because the sun was shining and the day was beautiful. It was a peaceful and idealic scene that I could not pass up. In fact this is just one of many photo's I captured from different angles and perspectives. You will probably see more of them later.

I took this picture at Lake Alfred, Florida from the dock area of the Lake Alfred Lions Club Park.

Storm's A-coming

I was on the way home from work when I saw an opportunity to take a picture of some towering clouds. This is not the whole picture and nothing but the picture. I cropped this one to concentrate on how the clouds looked across a field over the houses. Then I changed the image size to help it load faster on most computers. I named the file Storm's a-coming (2014-06-19 100_2748).jpg.

Star Wars Weekends 005

This was my last chance to photograph Darth Maul at Disney's Star Wars Weekends at the Hollywood Studios. It was the last Saturday of the event. Darth Maul was walking by on his way to the Stage after the Stars and Cars Parade. He was positively social that day and did not stop to intimidate anyone.

This picture is also from the last day of Star Wars Weekends 2014 by the stage at the end of the Stars and Cars parade route. Chewbacca was being his usual feisty, furry self on the way to the stage. Everybody stayed out of his way after the first snarl and lip lift for some strange reason.

This Chevrolet was parked on stage at Disney's Hollywood Studios and had an image of R2D2 applied to it. The camera bug bit me until I took several pictures of it. Some StarWars trivia that I have heard indicates that R2D2 means "Reel 2, Dialogue 2".

This is a picture of either a Clone trooper or a Imperial Storm Trooper at the end of the Stars and Cars Parade. He was headed up onto the stage for the final after the parade show by James Arnold Taylor. The significance of this picture is "that my wife and children marched in the parade and all I got was "this lousy picture" (think T-shirt instead of parade).

This is another image that I captured at the 2014 Starwars weekend on June 14, 2014. I saw this interesting silhouette of the Restaurant next to the Star Tours Attraction and could not resist trying to get it. Unfortunately I am drawing a blank on the name of the restaurant.

Star Wars Weekends

This weekend my family and myself went to Star Wars Weekend at Walt Disney World's Hollywood Studios and I got this picture to post today. I was also too tired to post it last night, so I am actually late with posting it on my blog. Sorry about that folks. This image was taken while I was laying on the sidewalk waiting for wrist banding and fast pass distribution for celebrity autographs. It was just too weird of a shot to pass up.

Roseate Skimmer 001

Here is yet another view of the Purple Dragonfly that I captured on D-Day + 70 years (June 6, 2014). I would like to again thank the remaining people of the Greatest Generation for all of their sacrifices as they endured years of warfare. This also includes the "non-combatants" who supported the members of the Armed Forces putting it all on the table to win or lose. I will remember and honor that commitment until I die. Thank you for my freedoms.

Roseate Skimmer Dragonfly 000

Here is another view of yesterday's Roseate Skimmer Dragonfly that I almost titled as Purple Dragonfly. It was shot at the Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. My preferred tag words for this insect are currently: Roseate Skimmer, Orthemis ferruginea, Dragonfly, Roseate Skimmer Perched on a grass stem, Purple and blue dragonfly. That County Park is about half way between Lakeland and Winter Haven, Fl. It is also the richest and most diverse shooting location that I have found to date in central Florida.

I was at my favorite shooting location on Friday, June 6, 2014. I would like to say a serious word of thanks to the "Greatest Generation". Your bravery and dedication to duty will not be forgotten at least as long as I live. I thank you sincerely for the freedoms I enjoy today. Stand easy and proud.

American Alligator 006

This is a picture from the South Lake Howard Water Reclamation park Showing an approximately four foot long American Alligator swimming. I thought the reflection of the eye on the water was a nice touch.

This is another image of the Alligator that I saw at the South Lake Howard Water Reclamation Park last Wednesday, June 4, 2014. He was about a four foot long gator and had been trying to stalk some Moore hens on the bank. I have cropped this picture due to some man made litter near by that interfered with this image. The Moorehens left the area, but the gator stayed and I made use of the opportunity to get this image.

American Alligator 004

I stopped off on the way home from work on Wednesday, the fourth of June, 2014 at the South Lake Howard Water Reclamation Park with the intent of staying ten to fifteen minutes for a quick photo shoot. I got out of there about an hour later. If nothing else, this image made it a worth while hour or so. There were about a hundred or so other images that I have to inspect also taken. Expect to see more here in the future.

Fortunately I had a few images on a thumb drive that I was working with for a different project and can use them here as well.

Wild Boar visited again.

This is another view of the same Boar from Yesterday. Unfortunately, the hard drive on my primary computer went down unexpectedly (to me) and took most of my ready images with it. The good news is the computer was still under warranty and it will cost me nothing to have it fixed. The bad news is, I do not know what if anything they will be able to recover for me. Cross your fingers for me.

Wild Boar

As I was driving out of the Circle B Bar Last Saturday (May 31, 2014) I saw this wild Boar feeding and decided that it was time to take some pictures out of the car's window. As this was a LARGE Boar and fairly close to the edge of the road I decided to shoot from the safety of the car. I would estimate the weight of this boar at approximately three hundred and fifty pounds.
